President of the union, Comrade Mansur Musa told our correspondent in a telephone chat yesterday, that the current climate of the power sector doesn’t suggest that any magic can be done between now and next year.
He said the country could achieve the target in the next four years, and not next year, provided there is right investment and if the federal government is sincere to move the power sector forward.
He said, “The 10,253 MW power generation target for next year as disclosed by the Presidential Task Force on Power is a political talk. They are politicians not engineers and cannot authoritatively speak on the target when the right environment is not there to do so.
