PHCN customers invade Aboru undertaking over ‘crazy’ bills

Written by Akin Adewakun, Lagos Tuesday, 27 November 2012
electricity consumers in Aboru, Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State recently as they invaded the office to protest the high bills they had been asked to pay in the month of October.
Some of the consumers who complained to Community News stated that officials of the electricity company were making it increasingly difficult for them to pay their bills promptly due to what they described as “improper billing” by the company.
“I live in a two bedroom flat where nobody stays around during the day between Monday and Friday. Interestingly, there is always no light on Sundays and up till now, there has been no official statement from the electricity company telling the community the reason why we do not deserve electricity on Sundays. I now wonder how they arrived at this bill of N3,500 as my electricity consumption for the month of October,” lamented Gbadebo, a resident of the community.
