Power taskforce moves to utilise PHCN equipment

THE Presidential Task Force on Power (PTFP) has embarked on the movement of Power Holding Company of Nigeria's (PHCN) overstayed equipment and materials to various installation sites in Lagos.
The equipment and materials include assorted power and distribution transformers, diesel generators, transformer oil, conductors, cables and circuit breakers. Others include isolators, control panels, instrument transformers, insulators, tower members and accessories, wooden electric poles, surge arresters and others.
Chairman of PTFP, Beks Dagogo Jack, has assured Nigerians of the safe delivery of the equipment at the PHCN Central Stores, Oshodi, and the Ikorodu Port Terminal, Lagos.
Dagogo-Jack gave the assurance during a meeting with the Director of the Nigeria Army Engineering Corps, General A. A. Olaniyi, to assess the progress of delivery of the equipment and materials held in his office in Abuja on December 13, 2012.
“So far the movement of the equipment to their various installation sites has progressed very well. Of course no one expects that the movement of such heavy-duty items sometimes to very long distances will be an easy task. But so far the exercise has gone well,” said Dagogo-Jack.
