WITH just few hours to Christmas day and also few days to the end of year 2012, workers in the electricity company heave sigh of relief following the decision of Federal Government to pay them all their entitlements in line with the demands by the organised labour.
The reason for succumbing to the demand of the workers, National Daily learnt was to allow the privatisation of the PHCN to take place.
The 54,000 registered workers and the 4000 not registered workers under the aegis of Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Company (SSAEAC) and National Union of Electricity (NUEE) will be paid off as part of the full privatisation of PHCN's assets, after months when government had kicked against the demands of the workers.
Commending the latest development, the President General, SSAEC, Comrade Bede Opara, give thanks to God for being a prayer answering God because he had heard their over 20 months prayer sessions both which were held in the open fields and in their closets.
