The Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Urfa’i, has expressed the Federal Government of Nigeria’s willingness to partner Omatek Ventures on its solar power solution with the intention of achieving uninterrupted power supply in the country.
Rufa’i made this known during her visit to Omatek new ultra-modern factory in Lagos. The minister who was also at the inauguration of Omatek's e-learning scheme and 24-hour hybrid solar power solutions at University of Lagos, said the initiative would help in addressing unemployment in the country.

“The major issue in Nigeria is power supply that is needed for reading, academic research and development. The issue of electricity is a very real challenge. Although government is doing a lot on power but we still have a lot, hence the need to partner Omatek on its solar power solution to ensure constant and uninterrupted supply of power, and have a turn -around for Nigeria as a country,” she said.
She expressed hope that organisations would key in to the innovation as a way of encouraging Public Private Participation (PPP), adding that the whole idea of the federal government’s transformation agenda is to create jobs and take people away from the streets.
