The two trade unions in the PHCN on Thursday said members would hold a national prayer session on March 15 to seek God’s intervention in the payment of their severance package.
Some of the union leaders said that the prayer became necessary following an alleged refusal by the government to adhere to an earlier agreement.
The unions are the Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies and the National Union of Electricity Employees.
Abiodun Ogunsegha, the General Secretary of the Senior Staff Association, said that seeking God’s intervention would help in resolving the matter instead of embarking on strike.
“If we go on strike, it will create more hardship to the public,” he said. “The two unions have agreed to embark on national prayer on Friday, March 15, to press home our demands.”
