PHCN workers to smile, soon

...As FINANCE MINISTRY RELEASES N400bn 1ST QUARTER CAPITAL
Aggrieved workers of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) are soon to be relieved of the demand of their unpaid salaries.
This followed the release by the Federal Ministry of Finance of N400 billion as first capital budget.
Mr Paul C Nwabuikwu, Special Adviser to the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said the release was intended “to give fresh impetus to the execution of projects captured in Budget 2013.”
He said out of the amount N45 billion "will be used for the payment of PHCN workers."
There had been a lot of controversy over the delay in the payment, for which workers of the Company embarked on series of strike action.
