The Bureau of public Enterprises (BPE) said payment of terminal benefits and pension remittances due to last batch of 2,382 staff of Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) is in concluding stage.
The bureau also restates that payment totaling N361, 024,432,338.48 had so far been remitted to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, bringing total payment made with regards to the
validated staff to 94.79% of the workforce.
It made the above clarifications in response a purported press conference addressed by the General Secretary of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), Mr. Joseph Ajaero bothering on actual
payment made to PHCN staff. BPE made the clarification in a statement signed by Head, Corporate Communications Chigbo Anichebe.
BPE statement notes that “Mr. Ajaero is aware that the total PHCN workforce presented to government is 47,913. Mr Ajaero is also aware that out of this number, 43, 375 have been verified and validated; as
bona fide staff of PHCN and have been paid both gratuity and pension component remitted to their RSA
