Electricity consumers yesterday accused the federal government of failing in its promise to protect poor Nigerians from paying increased electricity tariff following a tariff review which took effect in June 2012.
Expressing their disappointment at a customer consultative council meeting, organised by the Power holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) Karu Business Unit in Abuja yesterday, the customers noted that before the new tariff was introduced, government had promised that the urban poor would not feel the effect of the increase.
