Despite the directive by government that prepaid meters should be provided free to consumers, some residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have found themselves paying huge amounts of money to get them. Many have complained that they had to go through hell and pay through their noses before they could get the metre installed in their area.
Worse still is that some are yet to know how much they have to pay for the metre and are still waiting to see if the price will go down.
While some have already been harping on the benefit of the prepaid metres, others are wondering when the metres will be made available to them. Many stories have emerged regarding this noble project.
