Electricity workers threaten strike over Wamakko

UNLESS Governor Magatakada Wamakko of Sokoto State tendered an unreserved apology for allegedly flogging two members of staff of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria(PHCN), electricity workers in the North-West zone have threatened to go on strike.
The workers asked the people of the state to hold the governor responsible for any eventuality.
The workers said in a statement that the one-week ultimatum given to the governor to tender an apology had expired without him tendering the apology.
They accused the governor of beating Moses Osigwe, Business Manager of Gwiwa Business Unit of PHCN, and two other members of staff, Mallam Isyaku Daura, Officer II (Electrical) and Nuruddeen Mohammed, Staff l (Lines), after accusing them of being responsible for the failure of two SMVA transformers serving his home town, Wamakko.
