The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission on Thursday admitted that the plan for all electricity consumers in the country to be metered had not gone as planned.
As a result, it said it planned to unfold a new modality for ensuring that all electricity consumers in the country were metered.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja, the Chairman, NERC, Dr. Sam Amadi, admitted that its plan had not been so successful, adding that an alternative route to achieving the complete metering of electricity consumers had been worked out.
Amadi also confirmed The PUNCH’s earlier report that the regulatory commission was reviewing the fixed charges paid for electricity by Small and Medium Enterprises, who had complained that the new tariff order unfolded in June was driving them out of business.
