The Police Command in Osun State on Wednesday averted what could have led to a clash between some indigenes of Ilesa and workers of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that the residents of the area were angered by the circumstances surrounding the electrocution of a two- year-old boy, Hassan Badamosi.
It was gathered that one Temilade Obembe, in Ibala Area had earlier reported a case of a naked live wire which fell on the ground in her compound to a staff of PHCN.
Obembe said she reported the case to one PHCN staff simply identified as Taofeek, a staff of the marketing department of Ilesa branch of the company but no action was taken.
She said that the man asked her to look for someone to fold the live wire pending the time the PHCN office would react to the matter.
``I know the danger involved and it is the duty of the PHCN to make necessary arrangement on the matter,’’ she said.
