Power sector reform gets another boost in June

Power sector reform gets another boost in June

With the inauguration of 10 thermal power plants coming up in June, the privatisation process of the power sector reform would get another boost.
The power plants are those under the National Integrated Power Projects (NIPP) and coordinated by the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC). Benue State governor, Gabriel Suswam, who spoke at the end of the 27th meeting of the Board of Directors of NDPHC, which held at the State House, disclosed that the projects will cover that of generation, distribution and transmission of power.
According to him, virtually all the integrated power projects would be inauguarated from June in phases, stressing that most of the power plants are thermal plants that are at various stages of completion. Suswam further said that the privatisation of power companies after the inauguration of the projects was for efficient management.
He, however, said that before the privatisation of the projects, the government would embark on a road show to different countries and regions of the world to market the companies.
