The pioneer chairman of the newly-constituted supervisory board of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Hamman Tukur, has urged the Federal Government to keep to its pledge of repositioning the TCN for efficiency in the country’s growing power sector.
Tukur who was also a former chairman at the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission (RMFAC) argued that the government had no reason to starve TCN of required funds to execute scheduled projects in the transmission segment of the power value chain.

Speaking at the recent inauguration of the board by Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, Tukur noted that Nigeria’s total monthly revenue base should be enough to support development of critical infrastructure in the power sector.
