As the Federal Government intensifies efforts to privatise the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), workers of the power company have denied claim by the government that they have been paid their exist benefits.
Speaking with Daily Independent in Lagos on Thursday, the national vice president of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), Mbang Ntukubes, accused the Federal Government of engaging in what he described as “propaganda war instead of paying the workers their exit benefits and allowing the new investors to start on a clean slate”.
He said the government has not adhered to the agreement it reached with the workers on their benefits.
He also stated that the issue of many workers whose biometrics was not captured in the exercise that was conducted by the Federal Ministry of Power has not been resolved.
