Security operatives in Akwa Ibom State have rescued an accountant with Power Holding Company of Nigeria, one Mrs. Eno Umoren, seven days after she was kidnapped.
It was learnt that Umoren was kidnapped on September 14, when she was returning from a church service in front of her house in Ikot Abasi.
Eno, at the Nigerian Navy Base, NNS Jubilee, Ikot Abasi, on Sunday, said, “I was returning from church on Saturday last week when I was abducted in front of my house and driven to an unknown destination.
“My face was covered. I did not see anybody but I heard voices.  They had been making calls. But this morning, I was rescued and brought here. I stayed in the kidnappers’ den for seven days.”
Her husband, Akan Umoren, explained that after the abduction of his wife, the kidnappers demanded N30m which the family was still negotiating before his wife was rescued.
Speaking on how security operatives were able to ensure the release of the kidnapped victim unhurt, the Commander of the Nigerian Navy, Ikot Abasi, NN Jubilee, Commodore Isaac Ogbole, said Eno’s release was made possible through collaboration with other security operatives in the state.
