There are indications that proposals for reduction of Aggregate Technical, Commercial and Collection (ATC&C) losses over a five-year period submitted by bidders of successive Distribution Companies (Discos) of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) alongside their technical bids will shut-out further increment in electricity tariff.
Accordingly, the ATC&C loss reduction figures, which were submitted by the winning bidders and were disclosed at the recent opening of the financial bids for the Discos by the National Council on Privatisation (NCP) and BPE are expected to usher in gradual reduction in the current electricity tariff paid by consumers in the country.
