As parts of efforts to boost the power
sector, National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) has said that it
plans to invest about N15billion in developing infrastructure at its permanent
site in Abuja.
Director General of the institute, Reuben Okeke, who revealed this during a
courtesy call on the Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering
in Nigeria (COREN), Felix Atume, said 10.69 hectares of land has been allocated
to the institute at Idu Industrial Layout in Abuja for the development of the
permanent site.
Recalling that NAPTIN came on board in March 2009, with the sole mandate for
human capital development in the power sector, Okeke assured that the new site
will be developed based on Private-Public-Partnership.
He stressed the need to support training initiatives, saying that it will
gulf about N1.8million for NAPTIN to train one skilled graduate engineer.
