THE privatisation exercise that saw 10 core investors as new owners of the Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs) has brought about an uneasy calm in the business activities of the affected Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) offices.
In fact, the workers of the utility companies recently resumed offices in a tense mood, as fear of the unknown seemingly gripped them over the likely implications of the privatisatisation exercise.
When The Guardian visited recently, some top officials of the firms exhibited mixed feelings about the outcome of the bidding round, while junior staff members were carefully selecting adjectives to qualify their new entity, to fit the name of the buyers.
