- 18,500 benefit from health missions

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has identified the need to relocate the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) poles as well as oil pipelines as a major bane of completing the Ayobo-Ipaja road.
He explained the challenge during the flag-off campaign of polio immunisation and Eko Free Health Mission, which took off at the Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA) at the weekend.
Fashola, who flagged off the polio campaign along with Chairman of the House of Assembly Committee on Health, Hon. Suru Avoseh and his counterpart representing Alimosho I, Hon. Bisi Yusuf, pleaded with the residents of the area to be patient with the state government.
He assured the Ayobo-Ipaja residents that the road “is undergoing construction. What has slowed down the project is the relocation of some NEPA poles, gas and oil pipelines which run across the road project which the construction firm, PLYCON Nigeria Limited could not handle.
On the health mission, the governor said more than 18000 residents benefitted from the health programme while over 500 children captured in the immunization against Polio drive campaign.
He said since the exercise commenced in the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, several children “have been immunized against the child killer disease of Wild Polio while many of the residents have also been treated against various diseases.
